I wonder if they're only leaving this up in the Steam store for spite as well. This was a nice break down of the situation. They took their ball and went home, and quite frankly good riddance to bad rubbish. I mean, this is the same duo who originally invited people onto their Discord to discuss criticisms of the exclusivity and then started passive-aggressively complaining that everyone who "claims to be a long-time supporter has only joined the Discord in the last day". They got quite a bit of snark for it, but made the fatal error of trying to out-snark the snark they were getting, lowering themselves to the level of their own most needlessly hostile detractors, torpedoing their reputation overnight, and it would not surprise me in the least if the actual reason for them giving up releasing on Steam is entirely out of spite. If you need assistance relaying information / communicating with the Steam community, I'm happy to assist in any way. I've supported the EPIC release, but my friend base doesn't use EPIC, so I'm still blindly awaiting a Steam release, since I don't play XBOX or Switch. There are many Steam players that have supported you since you the beginning, but that isn't being recognized lately. To Rebecca and Ben, I appreciate the newsletters and have enjoyed the updates over the years, but the lack of correspondence/news/updates on Steam for four years, seems like a direct disparage of the Steam player base and is wholeheartedly unprofessional. I had no issue waiting patiently when other developers took a year to release.looking at you Double Damage Games, my loves. Why people are happy to solely support monopolies without question is beyond me. An EPIC exclusive is absolutely the way to go as an indie developer. I've been following for years and understand the history, but the outrage is unwarranted and is likely not endearing them to engage with this community.ĮPIC is an amazing platform that allows developers additional freedom.and profits. I don't understand the hostility toward the developers.
